Are you worried about winter energy bills? You are not alone! Please join Carrie Katan, of the Green Energy Consumers Alliance, as she helps us understand our utility bills, reveals energy saving options from the utilities themselves, and looks at energy efficiency actions to take in our households. Carrie is a wonderful speaker and energy guru, who has followed the energy marketplace in detail. She can take a complicated heating/cooling landscape and make it comprehensible! Topics include different consumer energy rates, aggregated electricity (like Acton Power Choice), income eligible options, the heat pump discount, and options for many savings through Mass Save (insulation, air sealing, and rebates on efficient appliances and HVAC equipment).

She will also share thoughts about our energy future. What does the aging infrastructure of our natural gas system mean for winter bills? What is the potential for our electric grid and possible roadblocks to achieving more energy independence? Is the transition to clean energy more expensive than fossil fuels? Or are there important savings in the long run? Finally, are there affordable heating/cooling success stories here in Massachusetts, in the region, and beyond?

We hope that webinar participants can take away concrete actions to help all households embrace a healthier, more affordable energy future.
