Description

Can researching clean energy technology sometimes lead you down rabbit holes? Well, yes, and that is why the Acton Clean Energy Coaches are here to help! Acton’s Clean Energy Coaching Program offers free ongoing consultations for residents and building owners to learn about, plan for, and initiate energy saving actions such as the adoption of home/building weatherization, efficient electric heat pump technologies, solar, electric vehicles, and/or other energy adaptations for a clean energy future. The coaches are Abode-trained community volunteers with personal experience of these technologies.

From January 2023 to January 2025, the Acton Clean Energy Coach Program has helped over 250 Acton households. Whether your questions are general or technical, the coaches are happy to speak with you. They are available to help anytime during your clean energy journey, from assisting with initial questions, looking at technology options, comparing vendor quotes, or helping homeowners adapt to new systems post-installation or purchase. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

The Acton Clean Energy Coach Program is sponsored by the Town of Acton Sustainability Office with support from community organizations like EnergizeActon.org. The program is quickly becoming a model for municipal efforts that encourage neighbor-to-neighbor sharing about clean energy technology.

Steps to Take

Talking with a coach is easy!

Step 1: Learn more about the coaches at the Acton Clean Energy Initiatives Website. Then scroll down to find the coach photos and bios.

Step 2: Fill out an Acton Energy Coach Consultation Request Form  (at actonenergycoach.com).

The consultation request form is easy to fill out. No special data is needed, so you can make your online request within a few minutes. A clean energy coach should be in touch within a week. If you do not see an email with "Clean Energy Coach" in the subject line, please check your spam folder. It is most likely that the coach will contact you from a personal email address.
